Backups

It is important for administrators to back up their MIDSA data frequently. Administrators can backup respondents’ responses, reports and the administrator’s historical information (session managers, respondents, and assessment versions).

  1. Choose the Tasks menu, then System Backup, then Save Backup.
  2. MIDSA will save your information in a Backups folder in MIDSA in Documents unless told to save it elsewhere. The backup file will be named "MIDSA Backup" followed by the date.
  3. A standard navigation window will appear with the default name in the File name: (Windows) or Save As: (Macintosh) section. Click in that space and replace the name with one of your choice. MIDSA will add the extension ".bak" to the file. If you wish to change the folder where the file will be saved, select the Browse button. Finally, click the Save button.

Manage Passwords

The administrator is responsible for all passwords—both for him- or herself and for all session managers.

  • When you wish to change your password, go to the Tasks menu and choose Change Password. After logging in, enter your new password twice and press the Finish button.
  • To change a Session Manager's password, click on the desired Session Manager and click the Change Password button. Enter the new password twice and click the Save button.
Updates

The MIDSA system may be updated or upgraded in three ways. First, the MIDSA software will be updated periodically. Second, the assessments themselves (currently Juvenile Male and Adult Male are available) will be updated. Third, you may wish to purchase an assessment you did not originally buy. Updating is managed from the administrator MIDSA.

  1. Go to the Tasks menu and choose Update, then Software
  2. After logging in, a list of available updates will be displayed. Afterwards, a message appears to ask if you wish to restart and apply updates.
  3. Click the Launch button to apply the updates.
